The Arcana Totus
(c) Cheryl Lynne Bradley 2002

This is a thoughtful meditation for the Major Arcana and highly suitable for a spiritual uplift, a journal or a taking-time-to-smell-the-roses moment. Separate the Major Arcana from the rest of your deck. Shuffle the Major's and pull or layout a small reading that you enjoy and meditate on the insight offered. The outcome can be quite surprising indeed.

The Fool:
Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

The Magician:
Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

The High Priestess:
When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

The Empress:
Believe in love at first sight.

The Emperor:
When you say, "I love you", mean it.

The Hierophant:
When you say, "I'm sorry", look the person in the eye.

The Lovers:
Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

The Chariot:
Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

Strength:
Never laugh at anyone else's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

The Hermit:
Spend some time alone. Try and remember your true face.

The Wheel of Fortune:
Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

Justice:
In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. When someone gives you a compliment say, "Thank you for noticing."

The Hanged Man:
Don't judge people by their relatives.

Death:
Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Temperance:
Talk slowly but think quickly.

The Devil:
Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

The Tower:
When you lose, don't lose the lesson. A friend is the person who comes in when the whole world is gone.

The Star:
Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

The Moon:
Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship. Blame is the singular most destructive force in a relationship.

The Sun:
When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Judgment:
Smile when you answer the phone. The caller will hear it resonate in your voice.

The World:
Dance like no one is watching, love like you've never been hurt and work like you don't need the money.
